Uebel advantage clarinetAuthor:Date: 2013-06-15 12:21Hello everyone,I am planing to get rid of my plastic clarinet and buy an intermediate level wooden one. I found a second hand F.A. Uebel Advantage clarinet, but I have some concerns. I can't find detailed information on their web site or any other place. Some were saying that the instrument is made in Germany, on other places China.Could someone advise me about this particular model and F.A. Uebel clarinets in general? A comparison with same range products (Yamaha ycl 450/650, Buffet E11/13 etc) would be very helpful. Thanks in advance and have a nice week end.Re: Uebel advantage clarinetAuthor:Date: 2013-06-15 14:59Just to say that Howarth's sent me out the Uebel student clarinet to try (can't remember the number).
It was wooden and a little heavier than my Buffet E13 - made in Germany, very solid. I liked it, but didn't go for it then as I want to try the Bliss also. Howarth's told me that in their opinion 'you got a lot more clarinet for your money than with the Bliss.' I shall go up to London and compare them both next month.Re: Uebel advantage clarinetAuthor:Date: 2014-06-22 19:56B [email protected]: Uebel advantage clarinetAuthor:Date: 2015-12-15 04:48Sorry to reply a old post.I also feel confuse of this question. I can't answer your questions in the affirmative, but just for anybody's interest there is a youtube video with this Uebel Zenit clarinet in the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra. Also under the heading of 'keeping it real,' the Uebel Advantage is one amazing horn.if you haven't tried one yet, you should.Paul Aviles. Reply To Message. The Advantage offers a smooth tone and a wide color spectrum. Its easy response and tonal variety encourages the imagination. The warm and powerful tone has positive resonance and provides tone of distinction.
There seemed to be some odd intonation issues with the lowest model, so I might steer clear of that one.I am editing this post to say that I enjoy the top three models! The first one that I tried was the Advantage which is a great clarinet. The next two models up, become even more refined in sound. ALL of them feature silver plated keys and leather pads (far more durable than the thin bladder pads found on most other horns). But I was disappointed with the Classic model.I guess they had to cut corners somewhere.Paul AvilesPost Edited (2015-12-15 14:32).
